Avian Sightings

Sabbath was quite the day for sighting birds of prey! The brass played at the Linthicum SDA Church which is about an hour drive from our home in Germantown, MD. On the drive to and from there we spotted fourteen hawks! At least one of them was a red tailed hawk, it's red tail was shining distinctly in the afternoon sun. All 14 were seen along busy interstate highways, (I270, I495, and I95).

She has a Name

Our parakeet has a habit of making a call that sounds remarkably like a squeaky wheel barrow. When I was listening to her this weekend it occurred to me that I should name her Charlie. I used to name everything Charlie, but this time it is because of the consistently squeaky wheel barrows used by Ground Force (a team of gardeners that transform gardens for people). One of the team members is named Charlie. She used to be quite shy, just like our new bird.

One Week Anniversary

Our baby has been with us a week, and no, I still haven't named her yet. To celebrate we got a perch/play area for when she is out of the cage. Don't worry, the cats enjoy a little siesta in the sunshine locked up in our bedroom while she is out.
