Highest position 154 on Wednesday 9/12/07. Taken from a scenic overview on Skyline Drive.

And this one today! Highest position 85 on Thursday 9/13/07. It was taken along the C & O Canal, just north of Pennyfield Lock.

I saw this hibiscus flower in the floral print of a dress on a lady sitting in front of me. I started to sketch it, but had to finish it by memory, because she put her jacket on before I was done.

National Arboretum

Last Sabbath we enjoyed a lovely outing to the National Arboretum. The only drawbacks were that it was very hot out, and we got there too late in the day to see the bonsai exhibit. I suppose that just means we need to go back. :)

Today we enjoyed a rainy day walk along the C & O Canal with some of our friends. Below is a link to a photo album of that day.

During the afternoon we saw this flower several times. I have been searching my flower books and the internet trying to identify it, but have had no luck so far. Does anyone recognize it?

We didn't make it very far. William has just recovered from strep and a rather nasty penicillin reaction, and I still am not functioning in top form yet. The red maple buds weren't helping anything! They are beautiful, but they sure wreck havoc with my sinuses.
